BFX in the community
Supporting Good Causes
BFX is proud to contribute to the community and make a difference in people’s lives. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to quality education and healthcare and the opportunity for a better life. We are committed to ongoing support, awareness and contribution, now and into the future.
The Smith Family
Learning for Life Initiative
BFX is proud to support The Smith Family – a national children’s education charity with a vision of a world where every child has the opportunity to change their future, no matter what their circumstances.
Like The Smith Family, we believe that education is one of the most powerful change agents. Together, we help young Australians to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty – so they can thrive now and into their futures.
The Smith Family supports children at every step of their educational journey, from early childhood through to the completion of their studies. They work with parents and carers as well to help families to play an active role in supporting their child’s education.
The Smith Family’s core Learning for Life program provides each student with a proven combination of financial, personal and practical support, which empowers young people to harness education and build skills to unlock their true potential.
Learning for Life is The Smith Family’s core program. It provides young Australians in need with long-term educational support in three ways.
Each child on the program receives:
- Financial support for education essentials, like uniforms, textbooks and excursions.
- Personal support from a Family Partnerships Coordinator, who works closely with each student and their family to problem-solve any barriers to education.
- Practical support through access to a variety of short learning and mentoring programs – tailored to each child’s needs.
This proven combination of financial, personal and practical support empowers young people to harness education and build skills to unlock their true potential.

Athlete Sponsorship
Nancy Sullivans was recently selected to join the South Sydney Rabbitohs Rugby League Team. BFX are proud to have supported Nancy and to help make her dreams a reality.
BFX supported Nancy to attend the Australian School Girls’ competition last year. Nancy was a valued employee at BFX Furniture until her call-up to the Rabbitohs.
We wish Nancy the best of luck with her sporting career.
Heart for Kids
Financial Support
BFX has been a valued supporter of Heart for Kids since 2017. Their contributions have made a significant impact during this time. Funding is focused on two main areas. Child Development Centres and Women’s Tailoring Schools.
Children in India often do not have a school they can attend or if they do, it’s prohibitively expensive. Heart for Kids Child Development Centres provide a safe place for children to learn.
Women in India often do not have the opportunity for education. Women come to “Sewing School” to learn tailoring through a free six-month five day per week school and upon graduation are provided with a sewing machine for free. This enables them to start their own businesses.
“Thank you BFX for enabling us to train and empower and save many futures.“ David Ryan – Founder & Senior Leader
